About Koya Academy

"Koya" means learn in Hausa, one of the most popular languages spoken in West Africa. Although developed in Seattle, WA we take a Pan-African approach to modern education. We hire the best and brightest minds of the African Diaspora to create and curate curriculum in a culturally relevant manner. By doing so we reduce the barriers to accessible education and remove the imposter syndrome. We believe it is vital for our students to see teachers that reflect them along their journey of new skills mastery.
